Unit 3 Look at me
 
Period Four
 
Teaching aims:
1. Knowledge objects:
(1)Learn to say parts of the body
(2)Do correct actions
(3) Learn to sing a song.
2. Method objects:
 (1)Through game and task, let students learn the new words and phrases.
 (2)Improve students’ speaking and cooperative skills
3. Moral objects:
Cultivate students’ interests of learning English, and encourage them to say in     English.
 
Key points:
Learn to say parts of the body: body, leg, arm, hand, head, foot
 
Difficult points
Do the actions correctly.
 
Teaching aids:
A projector, a computer, cards
 
Teaching steps:
Step I Warm-up/Revision
1.      Listen to a song, let students sing together.
2.      Greet people。
3.      Show a picture of me , review the words learned before: eye, ear, face, nose, mouth.
4.      Play a game.
Divide students into three groups, ask each group to choose one card ,then introduce the part together.
 
StepⅡ Presentation
1.      Play a flash, let students learn the new words.
2.      Show a picture of a bear. Learn the new parts of the body: leg, arm, hand, foot, head. Pay more attention to the pronunciations of head and hand.
3.      Show some new cards and let students point to the parts of the body at the same time. Learn to use the pattern: “ This is my… .”
 
Step Ⅲ Game
1.. Show the cards to students, divide them into three groups.
2. Give some cards to students, ask them to pass them. When the teacher says “stop”, the students who have the cards should come to the blackboard and introduce the part.
 
StepⅣ Pair work
1. Learn the actions with the body parts. Encourage students to follow the teacher.
2. After repeating several times, let student listen and do the actions.
3. Then, let students practice them in pairs.
4. Invite some pairs to show their actions.
 
Step V Sing a song
1.      Introduce  new body parts in the songbefore singing.
2.      Play a song for students, and show the lyric on the screen.
3.      Sing again without music, just follow the teacher.
4.      Encourage students to sing the song and do the correspondent actions.
 
Step VI Summary
1. Invite one student to review all the body parts learnt this lesson.
2. Review the actions and the song with students.
 
Step VII Homework
1.      Sing the song in your family.
2.      Practice the actions in “Let’s do”
 
Step VIII  Blackboard design
